Karin Alvtegen " En Sannolik Historia"

Karin Alvtegen's latest "A probable story" is probably her best ever. It's a departure from her usual psychological thrillers with murders and deceit. This time is family drama but not in the conventional sense. It's a suspense of a different order. It makes you think about your life and circumstances and yes for many readers, it will be a look in the mirror. Highly recommended. Her earlier books are out in English but I'm not sure if this one is translated yet. Highly recommended reading.

Karin Alvetegen's Betrayal

Karin Alvtegen has a knack for real good psychological thrillers set in Sweden. Betrayal is her second book translated in to English. The book was published in Sweden in 2003 and was a precursor to her bigger hit "Missing". Both books are worth a read but in my opinion, Betrayal is the better one of the two. In comparison to Johan Theorin who seem to be so popular right now. Karin is a step above him. Although certain aspects of the book are far flung like most thrillers it is for the most part believable. Karin's books leave you with a thought and sometimes with sadness. The ever so popular Hollywood happy ending, doesn't happen in these books.

I guess it's time for some updates. I have tried to read some books and it's going slow. I'm currently reading an English translation of "Karin Alvtegen's" "Missing". It is pretty good and as I understand it they are working on filming it. As for fishing. Went a couple of hours with Pineman last Sunday to Holston at Nances Ferry. Got skunked. Water temp at 66 degrees. Did a nice hike today with a coworker and her boyfriend. We went to Rainbow Falls in the Cherokee Orchard Area outside Gatlinburg. A very nice and warm day. Unfortunately the drought is causing the creeks to dry up. In this case LeConte Creek. A nice day and maybe I will go fishing tomorrow although I'm supposed to clean the house. Easy choice heh?
